What are some of the limitations of using Excel for pivot tables/charts? Why does that make software like Tableau more appealing in the workplace?

Plotting summarized data will almost always help to convey results more easily. However, there are situations where plotting the summarized data instead of creating a simple table makes data interpretation more difficult.
