LDR 615 Grand Canyon Week 2 Discussion 2
According to the textbook, people are more motivated when “they are shown a truth that influences their feelings” than they are by analysis. Discuss the relevance of this statement for organizations growing and responding to change. What responsibility does a leader have to honor stakeholder concerns when “feelings” are the primary basis for the concerns?
LDR 610 Grand Canyon Week 2 Assignment
Change Model Paper
In an essay (1,250-1,500 words), explore various models of organizational change.
There are many valid organizational change models. Most change models include discussions on strategic vision, the role of the leader, resistance to change, and the communication process. The purpose of this assignment is to introduce the student to principles common to most change models.
To successfully complete this assignment, access the GCU Library to research organizational change models. Select TWO different models of organizational change (please do not use Kotter’s 8 Steps of Change, as this model is thoroughly discussed elsewhere in the course).
Write a comparison essay that discusses how each model addresses the following issues:
- Role of the leader in the change initiative.
- Overcoming resistance to change.
- Communication process.
Application: Within your paper, critically evaluate the relative strengths and weaknesses of each model. (Note: critical and creative thinking are expected.)
Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
This assignment uses a grading rubric. Instructors will be using the rubric to grade the assignment; therefore, students should review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment.
